How does the processor type affect a virtual machine?

I have a guest OS with the processor type of "1.00GHz Pentium III Xeon". This virtual machine only runs Office Communicator (with only 10 users), so the processor averages 0.5% utilization for the last month. Would there be any advantage to changing the processor to something older like a Pentium I?

Umm I am pretty sure it's based on the physical processor (at least that's how vmware does it).

The real world is not about exam scores, it's about ability.
