Its available in the Registry under:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\HARDWARE\DESCRIPTION\System\CentralProcessor\0\~MHz

In a multi-processor environment, I would presume that you change the 0 in the path.

I think that it is different in Win 95 (and possibly also 98 amd ME) but I'm not sure of that.

Be aware that you may see "interesting" results on some early Intel SpeedStep processors. As well as code that is running inside a virtual-machine (VMWare or VirtualPC).
