does anyone have any rough ideas as the limit of nformation director can safely handle in lists before slowing down.

A project that I am developing has got at anyone time 4-6000 entries, which can be quite slow on a g3 mac but ok on a pentium 3 650 PC

However this seems to be the limit, and the project is suffering.

Ideally I want to use a database but their is not the budget to buy a plug in that is cross platform.

The project is cd based and not internet based so I can synch with an online database either.

any ideas
