Processing file of messages

How do I process a file of multiple messages with the sendmail command ?

I have a file of multiple messages containing To:, From: , Test and a period (.)

Sendmail only processes the first messages. Stops processing after hitting the first period.

Running AIX 4.3.3

Command is sendmail -vt < filename.

Thanks.
