Can anyone tell me what the following processes I have running on my system are for/doing please

1.
i4llmd
/usr/opt/ifor/bin/i4llmd

2.
syncd
/usr/bin/syncd

3.
nim_ether

HI ,

i4llmd is the nodelocked license server subsystem
from what i understand of this is that for licensing of products is not done on the server where you have the product installed , but on a server/workstation which controls the licensing , and if required you have a nodelock password file on the server which authenticates your access.

I have seen this get started if you have the C Compiler installed on your system ,and I think it uses the i4llmd daemon along with others.

1. syncd - ( man sync ) will give you more details but
basically syncs buffers to disks to ensure filesystem integrity. Started by /sbin/rc.boot

nim_ether - This I believe is to do with HACMP , Network interface Module if you do omget HACMPnim , you'll see nim_ether , and controls/informs the state of data via the ethernet adapter.

Hope this helps
