Hello,

We have a server that was running fine and the other day all of a sudden a whole lot of random processes just disappeared. When running an errpt -a nothing came back and I was wondering if anything else could be checked to see what went on?

Cheers

Nick

Can u please be bit more explain ?
Do u have SRM installed in ur system ? ( what is the output of ps -ef | grep -i srm )
What all processes disappeared ?

Hello,

I'm awaiting more details from the user who reported this issue, I have checked and I do not appear to have SRM installed on this system currently!

From what I understand it was some in-house software that was working fine and all of a sudden all the process just went without a trace and nothing appears to have been logged. When I get some more clearer info I will let you know.

Cheers

Nick

I feel two things.
1. Either some one killed the parent process for the application.
2. Some one stop the application.

Since you are describing this a sudden event, my gut feeling is, it was killed.

This wont be recorded into your errpt, unless it crashed, or file system full or memory shortage issue etc..,

Try searching into the logs of application itself, ask them to check in to their application.
