process hanging - "kernel: __alloc_pages: 3-order allocation failed." 1

We are getting the above message, "kernel: __alloc_pages: 3-order allocation failed." (with various order numbers) appearing in our log files.
For some reason this only seems to be affecting print jobs, lpr hangs, and the job has to be manually killed.

I realise this is kernel memory handling but is there a patch?

OS is RH 7.1 (2.4.3-12smp)

Follow the thread and maybe something good will show up.
they were talking a patch-seems to be a bug in driver code with atomic malloc() in the 2.4.kernels , up through and including 2.4.10. Pretty technical.
