process ddr faster

We are running SMS 2003 SP1.

I have rebuilt a sms server on a primary site. Since then the total of DDR went up to almost 500 000. There is no bad ddr's and I already changed discovery methods to suit the backlog.

Is there any way to make this process go faster. Like maybe stop other services?

what kind of discovery are you doing and how often?

thats a lot of DDR's...per day?

How's the schedule set for network discovery and whats the site scope of your boundaries.

You may need a few secondary sites because 500.000 resources indicate a very large network.
