Slightly general but if you choose all updates and install them, the system then complains it can't do certain ones while services are active. Do they get applied during a boot or shutdown?

Also I mentioned it before but a changelog would be nice so we could see why we are updating.

Thanks

go to support tab from the drop down menu (showing asterisk\full by default)choose yum.log which will display the date and package name of updates or installed packages

Ok, that at least lets me see what gets updated.

To clarify my first question, after kicking off this last batch, the error message says that httpd & mysql cannot be updated this way and have to be done through SSH. Does everyone install these updates that way or is that not recommended ?

When updating through the web gui, httpd & mysql are in use and can't be updated. So through SSH the command sudo yum update will install them.
