Hi, I realise not a specfically C question, but I thought I'd ask here (rather than the linux/unix forums) as its the kind of thing linux C programmers might know ...
As I understand it, /proc/PID/statm contains the processes memory footprint.
When I cat /proc/PID/statm for a certain process, the 2nd field (I believe to be the current malloc'd memory) is about a quarter of the memory top reckons my process is using ... any ideas ?
