/proc equivalent in HP-UX

looking for a C call that will give the Environment varible information like the /proc filesystem gives in Linux. pstat() does not give me this information.

 
Not sure what you mean by "like the /proc filesystem gives...", but the standard C call to get the value of an environment variable is getenv().
 
I understand that the getenv() call will work fine for the process you are running. I am looking at getting the environment variable of another process that I am not running (eg. finding the HISTFILE value of another user shell account).

/PROC doesn't exist in HPUX. Nor does it support PTRACE for debugger type of things.

They have their own DEBUGGER API built called TTRACE.

maybe you can research TTRACE and see if using that API you can get the information you need.
