Hi folks

I installed the first of the two disks on 43P machine, mounted the cdrom filesystem and it ran fine until it requested for the second disk to be installed. I umounted the cdrom filesystem, inserted the second disk and tried to mount it but kept getting error message saying it is not ready?

I do not understand why it produced the error message, I also checked if I am not with the 'installation path'. I can't think of any other reasons?

Can any of you shed some light?

Thanking you all in advance.

Regards

K

Hello Ken

Yes it is oracle installation.

It could be ralated to the problem whereby because you're running the installer from the CD rom, when it comes time to change it, the software gets lost and doesn't know wha to do. See Thread52-593778 and

for info about copying the necessary files from the CD and running the installer from there. The web address refers to a Solaris install but is probably still relevant to AIX. HTH.

Many thanks for your response.

Cheers

K
