Problems with XP Home Ed

When I try and access the registry using regedit I get a message "Access violation in kernel..." the same happen when I try and access System in the control panel, or msconfig and whats worse is my cpu runs at 100% when I'm NOT connected to the internet. There are three progs being started from the registry one is call urlip.exe this causing the cpu to run at 100%.

I cant stop these progs because I'm locked out. Even in safe mode I have no access to the above programs. The system wont let me install norton firewall or zone alarm.

Any ideas

Try and get hold of Startup Control panel from

http://www.mlin.net,

you should be able to disable startup from there and then reboot.
