problems with xinit

Hallo,

we have an old IBM system with AIX 4.05. When we want do start X-Windows with xinit nothing happens. After typing xinit the system tries to start X-Windows, the screen switches into graphic modus, but then it comes back to the shell. The only message is: 069-031 you have opened the "/usr/bin/xinit" window.

Has anyone an idea to solve this problem? Is there maybe a problem with the DISPLAY?
