Hi

I have a Windows Xp installed on me computer, in the morning when i start me computer, the post checks are run and sometimes it fails to detec harddrives. When it detecs harddrive and loads the Operating System, it just hangs sometimes i get a blank screen, othertimes i get to the windows logo scren with blue status bar going across, but it then freezes and and ui have to reset the computer. This will happen about 2 or 3 times before it loads up ok. When it fails to load i get an error msg saying

Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt

<Windows root>\system32\ntoskrnl.exe

Please re-install a copy of above file.

I have re installed windows around 3 times but the problems is still persisting. CAN ANY ONE HELP PLEASE?

My system Spec is as follow

Motherboard - ASUS A7V8X-X
CPU - AMD Athhlon XP2600
Power supply - Antec TruePower 430w
Graphic card - Asus v8000 delux Gforce 3
RAM - 512MB DDR

Have you tried re-installing onto another harddrive? this sounds like the harddrive is on its way out.

PS. I don't think this is the correct forum to post this.:)
