Hi

We have a problem concerning windows 2000 status messages. By that I mean the messages at startup and shutdown displaying what action is performed (eg. running shutdownscript, preparing network connections and so on).

The messages have disappered - that means that the computer just displays the windows background screen through the process of shutting down - so there's no information on what the computer does during the shutdown phase...!

I've found out that if the registry value:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\disableStatusMessages = 1 then the status messages doesn't appear...

My problem is still:

This registry value doesn't appear but I still don't have the status messages...!

Any help on this one would be greatly appreciated...

Kind regards

Siv

Hi again

I've tried that with no success...

In the mean time I've found out though that the Installation of Lotus Notes v. 5.0 (Danish) causes this to happen...I still don't know why or how it interfeers with MS Windows 2000 to create this problem...

Any help is still greatly appreciated...

Kind regards

Siv

You can try to reapply a SP3 for your W2kp after you finished a Lotus Notes installation. OR
consult with LN support (web or direct) - maybe they can help.
Unfortunately I'm not an expert in LN... :)
