Hello all,

We seem to be having some really strange problems with our system and I don't quite have any idea where to start fixing the problem. I'll do my best to accurately describe the situation and problems below.

We have a CCR tree setup such that one of the options allows you to leave a message with the receptionist. What we want is for that option to forward the call to the receptionist's extension and then, obviously if they don't pickup, their mailbox. However, that option currently leads you to the General Delivery Mailbox, and the standard message plays: "This is the General Delivery Mailbox, please say the name of the person....."

So firstly, I would like to change this setup. The second issue is that the receptionist's phone, for some reason, no longer asks for a password. If you hit Feature 981, it takes you straight into the General Delivery Mailbox message, and then gives you access to the messages. Add to this the fact that somehow there are over 1400 messages in that mailbox! How can I erase these messages, I can't see any screen prompt for this?

Finally, I was testing another set in the building and noticed that it was not asking for a standard password, rather is said: "Log" and I had to put in: 1021234 to get in. When I did get in, the phone played the receptionist's phone message!

As is clear, we definitely have a number of things crossed here that need to be resolved. I look forward to as much help as I can get!

Thanks,

Narmi

First problem
If reception is x221 then go to F983/AA/Table/1/ADNT and change it to 221.
This tell the vmail system when people press 0 it will go to 221.
By default it is 221, perhaps it was changed or your reception is not the lowest ext/dn.

Second
You will painfully have to delete one at a time, press 8 after listening to part of message.
Or if a small system the do a REINSTALL and reprogram from scratch, might be faster.
Sounds like the setting in F983/MBOX/100 is set to Auto Login, change it to request a password.

Third
1021234.....102 is the system manager mailbox, try not to give that mailbox to any user, the password for mailbox 102 is also shared with the F983 login.
When a phone states to LOG instead of PSWD that mean there is no EXT associated with the mailbox.
Go to F983/MBOX/CHG/102/EXT: and enter an ext/dn #.
