I am having some major issues with my vendor (a well known rlarge online retailer of enterprise computers / data networking hardware), and I am hoping someone can assist with information on how to correct the situation and possibly recommend a few competent vendors.
The problems (so far) are:
1.) I ordered a BCM50 3.0 4X8X2X2 IP with VM8, but upon unpacking the bundle, the 2 IP Telephony Client auth code was missing. The vendor has failed to either tell me to return the entire bundle or if they will order the missing auth code. (Of course Nortel will not talk to "end-users".)
2.) I ordered a "EXPRESS PLUS ON-SITE WITH SPARES - 4HR (7X24)" service contract for the BCM50. After receiving the "Welcome" email, I checked the online contract details. They have the wrong address / company listed for the Site ID. Again, Nortel says to contact the reseller, unfortunately the vendor has yet to resolve the problem.
3.) The reseller seems to be clueless about registering the device and auth codes with KRS to generate key codes, even though they are a Nortel authorized reseller.
Now that I have purchased equipment that I can't even use (due to lack of keycode and missing IP Telephony Auth Code), is it possible to have another vendor take over? I am stuck and not sure what can be done, beyond threatening the vendor with a chargeback and returning the equipment.
Does anyone have any suggestions, including a more reliable vendor for future dealings?
Thanks!
Robert
