It took me a little while to set up my webcam on a usb port (because the driver cd was Chinese). However, once set up it worked fine.
When I plugged the webcam into a different USB port, Windows (XP PRO SP2) started the "Found New Hardware" wizard and then failed to install the device ("The device could not be started").
1. Why does the device ned to be seperately set up for each different USB port?
2. How could I "show" Windows that the device functions on another port?
3. Is there a way of "packaging" the drivers that are working for the first port to set up subsequent ports more easily?
This problem with having to set up devices on other ports has ocurred with other USB devices, but I have always managed to simply install the drivers and continue.
Any help with this one would be greatly appreciated.
