Hello.

I'm having problems with upgrading my PIX to the 6.1.4 code. Maybe someone can help?!?!?

Right now I am running the 6.1.2 code just fine.

I can ping the inside interface. I can surf the net. I am receiving syslog messages. All is good!!

I use the "copy tftp flash" command to install the 6.1.4 code. That process works fine. When I see the "image installed" message, I perform a "wr mem". After that I reboot.

I wait 20 minutes. I can't ping the inside interface. I can't surf the net. I am not receiving syslog messages.

I console into the PIX and issue a "sh int" command. All interfaces are up/up.

So, I boot the PIX into monitor mode and put the 6.1.2 code back on.

I can now ping the inside interface, I can surf the net, I am now receiving syslog messages.

Weird... I get the same results when I try to go to the 6.2.2 code.

Any ideas?!?!?!

HI.

Try the upgrade from the monitor mode, or in the same way as before but without the "write mem" command.

What pix device is it (5??)?

Try to check for free space on the FLASH before the upgrade.

Try to erase the configuration, upgrade, and then reconfigure the device.

Contact your Cisco dealer if it still does not work.

I don't see the need to do a "wr mem" after the upgrade and before the reboot. I just reboot the PIX. You might want to try that.
