Problems with Summarizations in Cross-Tab

I'm using cross-tabs for the first time in Crystal Reports 10. I've placed States along the top with Dates along the side. The summarization will look at the values for each particular state for that particular date and drop the value into the summarization field.

When you scroll over to the right of the cross-tab, it puts in a Total field down the right-hand side. The values in these fields are valid and have calculated correctly.

However, along the bottom of the cross-tab there is another Total row that is supposed to total up the entire amount for that particular state and drop the value in that summarization field. But it doesn't do that for some reason. Rather, it will take the last value that has been summarized and display that. For instance if I have the value set:

CO
Date 1 500
Date 2 300
Date 3 400

Rather than give me the total of 1200, it instead gives me the value of 400.

I've read several reference books, and they all indicate that I should be able to highlight that particular summarization field and go to Edit -> Edit Summary to be able to adjust this formula. However, no matter if I click on the Total summarization or a State/Date summarization field, the Edit -> Edit Summary option is grayed out and inaccessable to me.

Does anyone else know how to get this to work? I'm at my wits end.

Thanks in advance.

For the main grid, what is the summary field and its datatype, and what summary are you applying to it?

I also had the same question, and was wanting a solution to that. my report looks as follows:

Sun Mon Tue Wed
-------------------------
12am-8am 11 7 8 ...
2 5 7 ...
Total 11
2
-------------------------
8am-4pm ...
...
-------------------------
12am -8am is one group

and thats one row in the crosstab.
i am looking for the total of 11 and 2
but the total feilds displays 11 and 2

any suggestions....and I am using 8.5

one more question is there any way to calculate the percentage of the 2 fields.
ie. 2/11*100

Thanks
