I work for a company that uses static IP addressing at all it's branches. This is not a problem for desktops and wasn't a problem for laptops with windows 98. We have recently started buying laptops with Windows 2000.
The problem i have is, i need to be able to change the IP address by command line and without the need for a reboot. I can change the IP address by command line but the result does not take effect until the laptop is rebooted. If i change the IP address manually in network neighbourhood and press OK or reboot the laptop it will initialise the change. This to me is useless.
Is there any way to force this change through without rebooting or going throguh the network GUI??
