Problems with special character´s (umlaut)

Hello,

i have a problem with the interbase db.
If i try to update a text with umlauts, so i get alway the error:

Arithmetic exception, numeric overflow, or string truncation
Cannot transliterate character between character sets
Statement: update artikel
set arttext="SV 3528 Wäscheschleuder"
WHERE artikelnr="3949398"

How can i fix the problem?

Have you set the IBConsole's codepage to the same as your char fields' codepage?
