Premiere Enthusiasts,
I was having trouble getting my Sonic DVDit! (Version 2.3 LE) to recognize the MPEG2 files produced by my Ligos plug-in for Adobe Premiere. After literally weeks of trying to solve the problem via customer support from Ligos, Compaq, and DVDit! I finally found the answer to my problem and wanted to share it with you in the event you suffered a problem like mine.
When you try to load a Ligos-created MPEG2 file, DVDit! will register the error "DVDit! could not find a suitable decoder for this file. Please ensure that you have a valid decoder installed." The solution is to disable a hardware acceleration feature in the Display settings. To do so, navigate through the following steps:
START
SETTINGS
CONTROL PANEL
DISPLAY icon
SETTINGS tab
ADVANCED button
TROUBLESHOOT tab
Reduce the hardware acceleration feature to NONE
After applying the new settings and re-booting the computer, DVDit! was then able to recognize all the MPEGs produced by the Ligos Plug-in.
The Sonic website mentions Ligos software by name. Reference it at:
Type "decoder" in the search box and execute the search, then look for an entry entitled, "No Suitable Decoder
with Tutorial Clips."
Thanks,
Eric
