I have set up crack on sol7 box. It installed okay, so went to scripts and ran shadmrg.sv and redirected output to file names newone ie #shadmrg.sv > newone I then ran #Crack newone and crack ran in 15-20 secs before finishing. When i ran Reporter to see output there was lots of error messages and messages saying ignoring shadowed output against all entries in the file. Any ideas anyone

problems with shadow/passwd merge crack

Hello,
Not really sure what your problem is, but if it involves passwd and shadow files then try the pwconv command. This will take your passwd file and update it's shadow.
Other passwd commands are grpck and pwck which will confidence check passwd, shadow and group files.
