All,
A new employee has joined and brought an XP Pro machine with him. We currently have an NT Server domain with mostly NT and Win 2000 machines. The problem now is that I have after several attempts I got him onto our domain but now he can only see the PDC and himself in Network Neighbourhood. I can ping any IP address on the network but I cannot use \\computername\c$ or see the data on the machine or look at the machines on Network Neighbourhood.
The only way I could get him onto the domain originally was to install NetBeui on both his and the server machine. If I get rid of NetBeui from his machine he can't get onto the domain. Why can't I just use TCP/IP like everyother machine and can anyone give me a solution using just TCP/IP or using NetBeui and TCP/IP.
I looked at the Microsoft sites and their only suggestions are to use NetBeui.

Windows XP Pro doesn't use netbeui any more. It rely heavily on DNS. SO if you have a DNS set up, it shouldn't cause any problem.

Unfortunatley I have DNS set up but it still dosen't make a difference. Also according to Microsoft XP dosen't need NetBeui but when you do a search on their website they recommend that a solution is to use NetBeui..make of that as you will!!!
