Problems with Samba-Mouint in United Linux 8

Hi all,

we've a problem after changing NOvell-Shares to Samba Shares for our Linux-Box with United Linux 1 / SUSE Linux 8.1 Server.

If we try to work wirg gzip/gunzip on shared drive, it will work but it brings up an error-message
gzip <Filename> : Operation not permitted

for two times.
We found a workaround to forget the messages, but what ´could be the problem on this ?
