Repackage Office 2K –
a. The set up capture is used in conjunction of snapshot and smart monitor.
b. At the end of setup capture it asks for the details. When the finished button is pressed it compiles and gives message specifying that certain dependent merged modules are missing (ex: - VBAHelper) and then it shows that they can be downloaded from the Product CD or from Web.
When the request to get these modules is made the application (wise) hangs.
Question: - Has this kind of error been faced? What is the way to resolve the same?

Go to the Wise site and download all the merge modules available from and put them in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Merge Modules or wherever else you have specified as your merge module default directory.. you can point this to a network share on your build machine and burn it to the image so that you do not have to do this over and over.

When you get the merge module selection dialog box, click OK, then cancel on the prompt to download from Wise. This should take you back to your compilation and the merge modules will be included in your msi.

Are you literally capturing the installation of Office 2000? If so, this is un-necessary, and will result in an unstable package. Office 2000 is already in .msi format. An adminstrative installation point should be created, and then the resulting .msi should be customized using the Office 2000 custom installation wizard.
