Problems with PGP2.6.2

I'm having problems with PGP2.6.2 on a unix machine. I can encrypt and decrypt files on the server, but I want to send emails using a Perl script, which refuses to work - I get some pages from the manual emailed to me in place of the encrypted message for some reason.

When I type 'pgp' at the command line, I get the usual blurb, along with 'No Configuration File Found'. Is this perhaps the reason why they aren't coming through?
