I am working with a company and their Point of Sale system.

When I ping - external I get several good returns then two or three request time outs. They are on the outskirts of a city wide wireless network (nothing else available in area).

My problem is the software is loosing TCPIP credit card information ( double charging customers in some case).

My question is, is there a wait feature or buffers in windows that can be increased to repair slower or intermittent time outs?

I don't know the POS software well enough to look for any wait statements.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

I'm not aware of anything you can do on the TCP side since you are experiencing layer 1 connectivity issues. You mentioned "city wide wireless network"... is there a way you could add a booster or extender or outdoor antenna to pick up better on the wireless?
