Hi

I cannot get my rules to work. For instance the last rule

works when I set it the beginning of the rules

in the top.

Everything has worked before ......

I have tried reinstalling outlook express and internet

explorer . I have windows xp home edition with sp1.

Best Regards

I'm really sorry, I'm not exactly sure what to do...

Consider contacting Microsoft on this issue.

There are many reasons that rules might not work the way you'd expect. Mail rules are processed in the order listed. More than 1 rule can act on the same message, so the order of your rules can make a difference. For more help, you'll need to be be more specific about the rules that you have and the conditions that your trying to match.

Ok then.......

I have 26 rules. All of these rules are more or less the

same.

For instance:
type 1
if thisemail@email.com is in the from field

remove it from the server

For instance:
type 2
if @email.com is in the from field

remove it from the server

the email adress and domain used above off course

differs from each rule.

I thought that ALL the rules were run from number 1-26

right? Now it seems like the only rule that works is the

one in 1st position that is the one on the top.....

Yes, all rules will be processed from first to last unless a 'stop processing more rules' is encountered. 26 rules will be difficult to troubleshoot. For trouble shooting and analysis, I usually recommend creating different folders for moving (instead of deleting) and add highlight with different colors to the existing rules. Often this can help determine which rules are acting upon each message.

Well I do not want to do that. Should I just delete all

my rules and start from scratch ? Thunderbird mail software

works like a charm......

This setup I have had for a long time and it has

always worked fine......

I recently recovered my system from a virus so my

guess is that this has damaged some reg. keys to do

with outlook rules....
