Problems with Oracle ODBC

I setup a simple job in DTS that copies data from an Oracle 8 table to a SS2000 table. I used the Oracle ODBC driver, but the SQL Server dba had me set up Oracle 8 client on my local machine in order to make the connection. I thought this was a bit odd since I thought the server should be handling the connections. The problem lies in that I can execute the package fine manually, but it fails when it tries to run as a scheduled task. It fails before it executes any tasks so I guess it is not even making the connection. Every morning I come in and run it manually now.

I must admit I never use ODBC connections or DSNs, and this is the first time I've ever mada connection to an Oracle db; I'm more familiar with dsn-less connection in vbs. It seems that this may be dependant on my machine.

Anyone have any ideas?
