With lots of help from "The Doktor", am having problems setting up an NIU for serial conn, to a VMX 100

see printout below, I've tried lots of different settings and also setting extensions to global tones (ICAT 0010)

I dont think there is integration between the 2 systems,
to proove that I tried to get output from my PC on the VM port, (but got nothing).

So amongst other things I killed and re-initiated ports 2 & 3, no joy, so then I set up ports 2 & 3 as plain MML, again nothing,

restarted program units, sfcei'd and also rfexi'd the switch again nothing, port 1 is fine,

possible the NIU is faulty ???

cheers

wich version of FW (NIF) You have on NIU?
CNBIP:BPOS=

Hi lancbomb

Of course it will work!!!

You will have to know the s/w level of the MD110 and the firmware level of the NIU board.

In this example, commands are for MD110 BC11:

Initiate the wanted number of analogue extensions:
EXTEI:DIR=,EQU=,TYPE=EL6,TRAF=03141401,SERV=000010000,TRM=3,
CDIV=000151000,ROC=000001;
Change these extensions to global tones for the VMX-100:
EXCAC:DIR=,ICAT=0010;
Initiate the Voice Mail group:
GHGRI:GRP=,LIM=,SERV=1000,TRAF=15,SEL=11000,QUE=00;
GHGMI:GRP=,DIR=;
Initiate the NIU board:
CNHUI:BPOS=x-x-xx;
IOBPI:NODE=NIU,BPOS=;
Initiate an EQU for Voice Mail V24 on the NIU board:
IOEQI:EQU=X-X-XX-X,IODEV=VMGICI9,USAGE=OUT;
Change Baud rate, Parity, Word-length, stop bits with:
IOIFC:IODEV=VMGICI9,BAUDR=1200,WORDL=7,STPBIT=1,PARITY=EVEN;
Check with: IOIFP;
Initiate the data channel on the NIU board:
ICFUI:IFCIND=5,DFMT=5,UPDFCN=NO,FILLER=32,IODEV=VM-GICI9;
ICFUC:MWF=ALL;
Set the SID (System ID)
ICMWC:SID=5,KFCN=MWC,DIG=group number,DTXT=group number;
Check with:
ICFUP:IFCIND=5;
ICMWP:SID=5;
Initiate the Voice Mail function:
VMFUI:IFCIND=5,VMF=EXTN2,POFMT=2;
Initiate the voice mail function on each analogue extension:
VMPOI:DIR="first group member",PORT=11,IFCIND=5;
VMPOI:DIR="second group member",PORT=12,IFCIND=5;
VMPOI:DIR="third group member",PORT=13,IFCIND=5;
VMPOI:DIR="fourth group member",PORT=14,IFCIND=5;

VMPOI:GRP=group number,IFCIND=5;

The VMPOP result will then be:
<VMPOP;
VOICE MAIL PORT DATA
DIR PORT IFCIND
10001 11 5
10002 12 5
10003 13 5
10004 14 5
VOICE MAIL GROUP DATA
GRP IFCIND
4000 5
END

On the VMX-100 use the RJ11 connector:
1 to MD110 VM port 11. Analogue extension 10001.
2 to MD110 VM port 12. Analogue extension 10002.
3 to MD110 VM port 13. Analogue extension 10003.
4 to MD110 Vm port 14. Analogue extension 10004.

Best regards doktor

Hi again

If you have an ICU2 board then the commands are even easier.

doktor

Hey Doktor,
Sorry I forgot to add the files,
see below, I think theres a problem with the NIU, as I when I killed it even though I reinitiated ports 2 & 3 as a straight forward MML port I can talk to it, get SSSSSS;
but no prompt.

pulled cards, restyarted prog units and RFEXI,

looking into sw/fw on NIU card,

cheers

Hi

You should be able to login through the EQUs
001-0-60-1 and 001-0-60-2 on the NIU board.
You must change the extension categories by :
EXCAC:DIR=2212&&2214,TRAF=03141401,SERV=000010000,TRM=3,
CDIV=000151000,ROC=000001;
Also EXCAC:DIR=2212&&2214,ICAT=0010;
The IOIFP looks alright.
The VMPOP should be changes to the VMX standard port setting, where the first port is 11.
Do like this:
VMPOI:DIR="first group member",PORT=11,IFCIND=5;
VMPOI:DIR="second group member",PORT=12,IFCIND=5;
VMPOI:DIR="third group member",PORT=13,IFCIND=5;
VMPOI:DIR="fourth group member",PORT=14,IFCIND=5;

So, now, just plug a serial cable on the NIU port with EQU
= "VOICEMAIL" --- 001-0-60-3.
The license for VM-V24-INTERFACE look allright.

Call again if it does not work.

Regards from the doktor

I suppose the star(*) means that you worked it out??
