We have troubles with Legato Networker 4.15 Clients (Netware 5.1SP3). Clients can be backuped but not restored. Backup Server is Networker 6.X on Unix
If i try to recover then the clients says that he waits on the server. The server says that the client is only browsing.
What is it that we can´t restore?

There is a bug in the server that causes it to sit and wait. It is supposed to be fixed in 6.1.1, but I have not installed it, yet.

I notice that it happened more on y clients with large indexes. I decreased the size of the index and hte problem has decreased significantly.

If you let the restore sit and wait, it usually starts about 20 minutes after you tell it to.

Hi!
what Server Versions are affected?
We have only problems with Netware Clients. NT and Unix Clients are doing find.

and one thing: have tried it with Networker Client 4.20 for Netware also?

Hi,

try also the tsa5up8 patch from Novell, with this patch you coul make multiple connections over the tsa to the NetWare Server. It is needed after you have applied the SP3.
I think the patch is still in the beta status, but it works very fine.

i´ve also tried tsa5up8 and tsa5up7 with no success
isn´t that multiple connection error a problem with networker 4.15?? There is a fixed .nlm somewhere of it
The client does not even try to make a connection or the server does not answer
I am going to test Client 4.20 and will report the results

Greetings from Munich

Its the same with Client 4.20. I checked also Index on the server.
MAybe the Index is really to large.

Do you have the message 'mount request canceled by server' in the daemon.log ?
If so, it's probably like rgzimmer told a problem of the NetWorker server. Fixed in 6.1.1
