problems with multiple exports

I have a macro that a user uses to export data into multiple excel spreadsheets. Everything runs fine with the export as long as I try no more than 6 to 8 exports in a row. After 6 or 8 exports access locks up. We close access then re-open and can run another 6 to 8 exports. Opening task manager shows the memory used by access just keeps growing even though there are close report statements after each export.
We run Windows XP SP1 with Office XP pro so have access 2002 at SP 3.
Any ideas would be helpful. Is it I have just run into a limit of Access or am I missing some patch that fixes this.
Thanks,
Rick

Can I ask why this question is posted in a reports forum?

Have you ever considered pulling data/records into Excel using MSQuery?

The issue is with reports. I have a macro that runs to create reports some are output to excel some to word some to PDF formats. But this problem also occurs if I just generate individual reports.
It seems like there is a limit in Access 2002 that limits the number of reports that can be generated before access has to be restarted. This limit seems somewhere betweem 6 and 10. Then Access has to be cloased and re-opened. Just asking if others are running into the issue. We never had the issue in Access 97 only in Access 2002.
