I have a 2616 that will not let my user answer a line without pressing the line key. The lpk is set at 14. I have replaced the phone twice (with New out of the box), moved phone to a new TN, Outed and reprogrammed the phone. I've printed the programming on a working phone and compared the two, nothing different... Any ideas, I'm at a loss.

Thanks
Eleanor

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as "New" for 2616's anymore unless you have been hoarding truly new sets since before they were discontinued.

If you swap a phone that works with one that is not working correctly, does the problem follow the phone, or stay with the location?

did you set ola or ira in CLS, not in effect w/o it.

No I'm not hoarding, just wishful thinking... I placed a 2008 at the 2616 desk to see what would happen and the 08 line keys worked. Although I didn't leave it there to see if it would flake out on me. I didn't place the 16 at the 08 desk. Will try to swap a couple of others out today to see the results...

yes, OLA and IRA are set in the class of service...

Set CLS OLD IRA.

With both OLA + IRA, you lift the handset of a ringing phone and it will give you the first open non-ringing line. You never use OLA and IRA at the same time or the phone acts dumb.
