I am having problems with login into the SQL Server using the osql -S XXXX -U xxxx or osql -S XXXX -U domain\xxxx

I get "Login failed for user xxxx"

I can login with osql -S XXXX -E

The server is set under the Authentication to SQL Server and Windows.

I need to use user name because another applicaiton I need to use requires to put in a user name and password.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Pawel

Does that user have an account in SQL Server and have access to the database?

In Enterprise Manager, drill down to Security, click on Logins. Is there a login? If so, right click on the login, select Properties. On General tab, what authentication mode is set for the login? On the Database Access tab, does the login have access to the database?
