Problems with Linux file restores on BrightstorEB

We're using Brightstore Enterprise backup and for some reason from time to time, there is a bug in the software that only lets me restore large directories vs the 1-100MB in size. I always have a problem with restoring from the centralized Windows backup server to a Linux server. I cannot restore one directory in place no matter which option I choose (overwrite, create new, etc). The restore shows it has completed successfully but doesn't restore any files or data just gives a bogus completion message. Any suggestions? Its really annoying, cause I'll have to restore a directory up sometimes from the root which means I have to move all those files / folders to another location

As a general rule when the operation is reported as Successful but nothing was done, it is a rights issue.
