Hi

I have this version GL4.2A Small Business Version of Accpac and since my computer was serviced, the Accpac program was reinstalled. My problem is that I can no longer open the program. I receive the following error message:

"Accpac.exe Unable to locate component.
This application has failed to start because CATO3CNT.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

I have tried to reinstall Accpac and this does not work. I have also uninstalled and reinstalled Accpac and still no luck.

I've also looked at an old computer which works with this Accpac to see how it is setup. I copied this CATO3CNT.dll on to the serviced computer, and this doesn't work either.

Can anyone suggest something that might work?

You are missing the path to C:\CA_APPSW.
Edit your system environment variables and add C:\CA_APPSW to PATH.

Hi ettienne

Thank you for your quick reply. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to adjust my path/system environment. I hate to look like a dope. Do you know where i can locate instructions on how to do so?

If you can suggest how this is done. I will give it a try.

Start, Control Panel, System, Advanced, Environment Variables.
Select Path under System Variables, then click Edit.
Go to the end of the line in the Variable value field and type in the following:
Code:
;C:\CA_APPSW
Click OK
Click OK again
Click OK another time

You should be good to go.

Hi ettienne

Your instructions were excellent and I adjusted the path on the environment variables. When I tried to launch the program again, there was a system error PIb error 6.

I referred to the computer that is working and the path was set the same as the computer that is not working. Not sure if you've encountered this problem. If you have any other suggestions, I'll give it a try.

Thanks for your help.

You do not have full rights to the Accpac shared data folder on the server, or you have not installed the System Manager service pack.
