Hi folks

Got a weird problem. I have a report that prints fine until I put a watermark on it. Then the text fields stop showing.

This is before adding

And this after adding a background image

I've tried gif jpg png all with web colours. the image is only about 2.5cm wide.

I have rebuilt the app decompiled and all of that. If I copy a good output report to a new version then put the image in, it doesn't work. If I remove the background image the problem stays there.

I'm stumped. Never had this before. Does anyone have any ideas please?

Are all of the text strings in bound text boxes? This is a unique layout that must have something special regarding the format.

What version of MS Access are you running?

Hi Duane

Using Ver 365Ent. And yes the text fields are unbound and filled via a DAO SQL sequence set in the Detail Format statement

What happens if you use a bound control in the same area as your DAO provided text? Have you attempted to move the DAO code to the On Print event? Are there text boxes you fill or do you use the Print method of the report?

Basically. I use a query to generate the 5 generations and put the ID of each animal into a table (this table is emptied before each append}

It then gets read via SQL and I then build each unbound field via code. It's maybe a bit inefficient but it's actually very quick on 150K records. The report outputs to print preview mode.

I have tried "On Print", "On Format" the same end result. The microchip at the bottom is a bound field. I moved it over the top of one the unbound fields and it printed fine. I have tried clipping zooming and stretching the image. I tried the image as a water mark, as a image. What's weird is that once the image has been added then removed the problem persists. It's like a paint problem.

Try add a label to the right side of the detail section. Set the Vertical property of the label to Yes and set the format as needed. This could replace the image.

Ahhh... didn't think of that (Duh!). Will give it a go and let you know. Thanks

Hi Duane

Feeling really dumb at the moment. Looking through my code I noticed a reference to the report's name to fill values. Of course I was playing with a copy all the time. Once I changed this it worked (used the label idea).

Thanks for you patience and thoughts. I will crawl into a hole for a while now...
