I've exhausted every idea I can think of to try and repair this problem. Here's what's happened so far:
1. IE7 was accidentally installed on one of our servers. It's incompatible with software we use to run in terminal services therefore I had to uninstall it. The software actually depends on IE6 to work properly for the software to work properly.
2. After uninstallation of IE7, IE6 wouldn't work properly. If I click on file | print nothing happens. If I click file | page set up, IE6 freezes.
3. Tried multiple methods of reinstalling and uninstalling IE7 in an attempt to bring the IE6 version back to it's working state. I even removed service pack 2 to see if IE6 would work properly and it would not.
I wish I could just use IE7 and be done with it but unfortunately this is not an option. Another thing I should note is I ran hijackthis on IE6 and it found at least 50 red entries, none of them can be removed. The server is spyware free and I don't think the entries in hijackthis are spyware related, I think they are related to the removal of IE7.
Any ideas?
