I tried to install my PC (a compaq Prolinea 5100) with win2K on my PC, but it seems i have problems accessing my HD.
This HD is a Quantum Fireball LCT 10 (10Gig).
The Bios from the PC finds a type 65 wich is only 8,5 Gig.
While booting the computer gives an error on the disk wich says on the compaq pages is a problem with configuration. So i configured the HD manually (sectors, heads en stuff), but then the size of the disk is displayed as 16 Gig and while rebooting, the Bios tries to correct the disk type again to 65.
I'v been updating the Bios with some rompaq's from compaq, but the disk is still not recognized as should. (Although it's working fine in another PC)
Can anyone help me with the appropriate Bios-upgrade or another tip to solve this problem ? It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.

I would start by checking the Quantum web site [think they are actually owned by one of the other major drive mfgs. now]. Most drives supply 3rd party software to help with the installation process which may include a drive manager to help your system to recognize the new hardware. Good luck!

I've been looking at the Quantum-website, but i can't find a thing about HD's !!
Am i looking the wrong way ?
Or is there anybody out there who can tell what prog / tool i should use ? It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenious.
