Problems with GroupShield 5.0 - Exchange 5.5 1

Three months ago we installed GroupShield 5.0 and we start using AVAPI. After we've found some problems with attachments, we decided to change to ESEAPI and the GroupShield has worked fine.
Two weeks ago we had a problem, it seems during trying automatic update the GroupShield has decided to change ESEAPI to AVAPI without a clear reason. After this change the system starts a lot of AVMON32.EXE processes and the server went to 100% busy. After a reboot and returned the GroupShield to ESEAPI the service was working normally again. At this morning the problem occurred again.
Could someone help me ?

You haven't got ePO enforcing a different configuration?

We don't use ePO yet.
But I heard the McAfee technical support about a known issue. If GroupShield has "a problem", it can change to AVAPI because this is the default configuration. I'm not very happy with this explanation. And nobody knows what is the problem.

Sounds about right for NAI.
I recently had to reinstall service pack 4 for Exchange and then run a repair installation for GroupShield. Have you tried a repair?
