We have a network with win NT 4.0 server, and on the workstations we run win NT, win 2000 Pro and Win XP Pro. Now the server have some problems with the domain controller. When we are trying to logon workstations already in the domain we get the message: “The logon service is not running on this machine” (I have translated from Norwegian so it’s not the exact word) and if I try to connect new machines to the domain I get the message: “The domain is not available or does not exist”. I can reach the server using ping and the IP – address in the command window, so I know the network connection is OK.

The server tells me that the file ISC.exe is missing, this file was deleted by our virus – program because it was a backdoor. Does this file have something to do with our problem?

I hope someone can give me an answer to my problem, this has been a huge problem.
