Hello !

Someone out there with a running cViewServer installation?

I have bought the product but got some serious problems to make it run.

when i try to run a scheduled report i get something like that in my log:

ERROR: Cannot load report (C:\reports\Test.rpt) The type initializer for "CrystalDecisions.CrystalReports.Engine." threw an exception.

Any ideas?

Have you seen this KB article? Most of what came up from a good Googling related to CR for .NET deployment issues.

Thanks for the hint!
I have just read the article and this could be the reason for my problem ... but ...

i installed cViewServer on a freshly installed Win2003-Server with nothing on it but the OS, to make very sure it is alone and so will happily run without issues.

Normally i would hope that cViewServer (or any other setup-routine of any product) carries everything it needs to run within its setup-files, so there should be nothing on my machine which could cause such an error.

If i am wrong and i need to install something else to make cViewServer run, then i must say that i cannot find any hint for that in the docs i found.

But i will look deeper into your kb-article, maybe it is of help.

Hi everyone,

Yes cViewSERVER is my product along with cViewMANAGER and all the other stuff listed on my site. All programming and install problems are mine.

We do try to keep in contact with our users but the last few months have been eventful. February was filled with training courses and in March we were forced to move offices. We are now working from temporary premises so there is still some minor disruption ahead.

I agree that the install should include all the run time files to load the Cr run time on a clean machine. We test our installs on multiple virtual machines.

However other install issues can creep in. You need local admin rights, and must remember that cViewSERVER is running as a windows service so the account priviledges of that account come in to play as well.

Contact me directly. I'm sure we can sort this out.

Thanks to DGillz for telling me this thread had started

Hi vidru!

I installed the CR10-dotnet-runtime-files mentioned in the KB-article posted and Voila (!) my errors are gone.

Seems chelseatech do not deliver the right stuff with their setup-routine.

Since they do not monitor this thread anymore hopefully somehow they will find out about this :)
