Problems with crystal reports and server

We are using OLEDB, the reports connect to a sql server 7 database located on the local server.

The report viewer connects to a webservice on IIS on the server, which points it to the report.

We keep getting the error:
'Underlying connection closed' and 'operation timed-out'.

I'm unsure of what to do now?

The messages are really spontaneous, sometimes we get that, and other times we dont.
