Here are the basics:
Road Runner Cable
Static IP
Netgear Web Safe Router Gateway RP614
Internal Network:
Static IPs for all devices (10.x.y.z)
One NT 4.0 Server with LAN1 connecting to a satellite dish. LAN2 connecting to an 8-port hub which connects to the rest of the network.
Devices on LAN2:
One ERA Server.
New client PCs are running XP Pro and older PCs have 98.
Three 3COM switches, one Cisco 1601 Router (For the remote location.), and one Cisco 1900 series Catalyst router which I have no idea what it is for.
Problem:
Some PCs can connect to the internet and some can not. I have pointed the PCs away from the NT server and to the Netgear router gateway, but some PCs refuse to connect. The PCs that can connect are in different buildings so I know the fiber connection is fine there. I suspect that 1900 series router may be screwing me up some how. I can set static routes in the Netgear router, but when I tried to add the 1900 router to it, it froze and I had to reset the netgear router. I was brought in to setup the PCs but they cornered me into doing this which I have no business doing, so any help, ideas, etc would be welcomed.
Let me know if you have questions and I can give you more details. Thanks!
