i'm having problems with the audio only when I try to watch a video on youtube.

I can play music and videos using limewire or media player but only in youtube is where the problem occurs.

Any ideas on how to fix it?

Could be an internet bandwidth problem and NOT an audio problem. Post speed test results from
Best test would be to hook a friend's laptop on your internet connection and see if they get the same results with YouTerd, oops I meant Tube. If NOT, it could be a lot of things on your computer.

I have done the same test with another PC connected to the same network and it works.

I would check out Ben's ideas first.

I've seen where Firefox CPU utilization goes so far up (specifically plugin-container) that it starts chopping the audio. Maybe launch Process Explorer/Task Manager and see what the CPU utilization is AS THE VIDEO IS PLAYING and see if the CPU spikes coincide with the audio dropouts.
