Best test would be to hook a friend's laptop on your internet connection and see if they get the same results with YouTerd, oops I meant Tube. If NOT, it could be a lot of things on your computer.
I've seen where Firefox CPU utilization goes so far up (specifically plugin-container) that it starts chopping the audio. Maybe launch Process Explorer/Task Manager and see what the CPU utilization is AS THE VIDEO IS PLAYING and see if the CPU spikes coincide with the audio dropouts.
