We have got a database that contains documents. The documents that are being worked on cannot be seen by others, only the published ones.

If we want to create a new version of a document, we have a script that makes a copy of it, so we then have, for example Doc1 and Doc2, Doc1 is the original and Doc2 is the copy. The copy (Doc2) can then be changed and published. When the copy (Doc2) is published, the original (Doc1) and the copy (Doc2) swap IDs, the original is then stored as an old version. This is so any external document links that pointed to the original then point to the new version.

This works fine till people who are working on the not-yet-published copy make or change a table of contents using anchor links. The properties of each anchor link contains the whole path including the document ID (Doc2). When we then publish the document, it gets another ID (Doc1) and that's where the problems start. All of the new anchor links point to the wrong document (Doc2) We have tried to find out how to change the properties of the anchor links whilst publishing the document but can't find any method or object that is helpful.

Has anybody solved this problem?

Thanks a lot in advance
