I am trying to set up the wireless network stuff at my home and after I get everything running I look at the Network connections and it says limited or no connectivity.
I have tried to repair the connection but it cannot complete the releasing of the IP address. what do I do.

I am running XP.
The PCI card is a D-Link DWL-520 V.E1

It sounds like your Wireless Access Point is not set up properly. What type of AP are you using? Do you have any security turned on (please)? What security are you trying to use. Does your AP show your device being attached?

dput i have the same problem and my ap is not showing the devices.

Do you have your Wireless Access Point assigning DHCP addresses? Many times that message is associated with not being able to get a valid IP address.

Dan

as dput says, ensure the AP is actually set to give out addresses using DHCP.

Sounds to me like you have an IP conflict. If your AP is assigning addresses, verify that you don't have a static one on your pc. Also, make sure there's not another device on your network performing dhcp leasing.
